Summer Access to Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg, and Other Library Databases


Here is a summary of the access to databases that will be offered for students and graduates during the summer of 2019:


Returning Students

You may use your Westlaw account through the summer for noncommercial research, such as law school activities, research assistant assignments, work for a nonprofit, or in an unpaid internship.


Summer and New Graduate Access to Westlaw, Lexis and Bloomberg Law


Continuing students can extend their passwords for use over the summer for academic purposes only.  These purposes include: summer law school classes, law review & journal work, projects for a professor, moot court, and unpaid non-profit public interest internship/externship (or pro bono) work required for graduation.  Non-permissible uses include any work for a law firm or other for-profit employer.  To extend your password, go to

For new graduates, Westlaw has a Grad Elite program which extends access for academic and bar examination preparation purposes through November 30, 2015.  New graduates will need to fill out the Grad Survey to extend their access, and the extension has an overall cap of 60 hours of use through the end of November.  To register, log in at and select the appropriate extension banner.
